Summary
Groove has no account system or advertising. It uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to understand overall app usage without collecting information that directly identifies you. Analytics is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Anonymous analytics
Groove sends TelemetryDeck an anonymized installation identifier, app launch and feature interaction events, a timestamp rounded to the nearest hour, and technical information such as the Apple Watch model, watchOS version, app version, and build number. This information is used only to measure aggregate app usage and improve Groove.
Analytics does not include your name, email address, or other directly identifying information. HealthKit data is never sent to TelemetryDeck, including health, workout, heart-rate, duration, distance, pace, cadence, calorie, route, or location information. TelemetryDeck does not retain IP addresses. Groove does not use analytics for advertising, personal profiling, or tracking across apps or websites. You can learn more in TelemetryDeck’s privacy policy.
Information used on your device
With your permission, Groove uses Apple HealthKit and workout information such as heart rate, workout duration, distance, pace, cadence, and calories. During an outdoor workout, Groove may also use location and route information. This information is used to run the workout, calculate metrics, provide alerts, and save the completed workout to Apple Health.
Storage and sharing
Groove does not transmit or store your health, workout, or location information on servers controlled by the developer, and does not sell or use this information for advertising. Workout information saved in Apple Health is managed by Apple and your device settings. Apple may sync that information through its services when you enable those features.
Your control
You can review or revoke Groove’s Health and location permissions in the Health app or Apple Watch settings. You can view and delete saved workout information in Apple Health.
Removing Groove stops future analytics collection from that installation. Anonymous analytics records are not linked to an account or identifiable person, so Groove cannot retrieve or delete records for a particular individual. Anonymous analytics is retained only as needed for aggregate product analysis and according to TelemetryDeck’s service retention controls.
